Hot Butter, isn't it...?
Sort of. Hot Butter recorded the version that everybody knows in 1972. However, Gershon Kingsley (who put out a lot of Moog based albums, only about 70% of which have aged well) originally composed it back in 1969; it’s on his album “Music to Moog By”.
Thanks for jogging my memory!
The fact that I can’t remember who composed “Popcorn” off the top of my head is actually concerning me a little bit.

Unpopular opinion
The shock appeal of power electronics/harsh noise became boring and played out by 1995. Probably even before then.
Along this line of thought, I feel like nobody wants to admit that certain lyrics tend to veer into Insane Clown Posse territory.
